Harvest will begin in August and will continue thru the end of the calendar year. Shearing -- this year we will be hand shearing the ewes in small groups beginning in April or May. While in Colorado, we started leaving tails on all ewe lambs to evaluate if we want to adapt this practice. Several of the 2008 lambs kept their tails and experienced no difficulties whatsoever. In 2010, we left tails on all of our lambs and intend to continue this practice as long as it remains safe and healthy for the animals in the Missouri climate. Visitors are welcome for tours -- call to arrange one today! Our lamb was featured at several local restaurants in Colorado and we plan to continue this line of marketing in the Kansas City area. |
